At long last, another porncast – and I made a video version for you as penance! Fear my disheveled visage!
A little rambly, but let’s be honest, it’s caffeine’s podcast, not mine at this point. Sleep deprivation has never been so rewarding.
Links from this show:

- Support TVA at this year’s marathon – run with them or sponsor a runner
- You might like Shake & Go Smoothie
if you’re not a Vega
fan – here are the ingredients for smoothie vs Vega. I get a commission if you buy through the Amazon links, but seriously, Vega
seems like a really good deal to me, and I honestly love the products.
- And no porncast would be complete without mention of a milkshake that tastes like pancakes. No, probably not vegan, and not big on my list of life’s regrets.
Sorry it gets a bit rambly, but I’m incredibly proud to say that this week’s show is exactly 30 minutes long. What, you’re going to watch that rerun of Friends for the 40th time instead of this? You can direct download the audio version here, or subscribe in iTunes to get them delivered automagically.
And of course, there’s a handy widget thingy to listen right now, in case the video version is offensive to your eyes:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Let me know what you think about video versions in the future (assume production values improve) – should we make more? Put ‘em in iTunes? Facebook? Let me know in the comments!

I only see two donkeys….

As a fellow GTA-ish vegan dad I tried to grab some vega using your link, but Amazon.com won’t ship this to Canada–perhaps you have a different affiliate link? Panacea is great, but not exactly local for us. When I say GTA-ish I mean to say that I know those donkeys–not as well as they know each other, but we are on a first name basis (the third one is 416style).
Cheers
Matt
Hey Matt, my next cheapest options are in Kensington Market, so if Panacea’s hard to get to, that won’t help! Where’s more local for you, so we can reach out to find the best prices?
Oh, and I haven’t heard yet if Vega’s going to be at this year’s Vegetarian Food Fair (Sept 10-12, Harbourfront) but they usually have a booth and it’s an awesome event anyway if you’ve never gone: http://veg.ca/foodfair
OMFG, CHICKPEA SALAD SAMMICH SUSHI – trying it later. I bet that would be especially good using Isa M’s Chickpea Hijiki Salad Sammich recipe…I will report back with my findings.
Vega: I find the plain flavour to be the most palatable. Nonetheless, making a smoothie with frozen fruit and drinking it right away, is the best way overall to make it almost delicious, in my experience. And to take the stems off the kale; I was lazy with my smoothie yesterday and didn’t and just kept getting mouthfuls of partially pulverized salad. Bleh.
Nori wraps make great bread substitutes for a lot of things – they’re just not “sink your teeth into” thick, is all. And yes, I’m talking peanut butter & banana.
Important warning on Vega smoothies – much better with fruit than in a green mix, in my opinion. And as I just noted, I have a pretty open-minded palate.
