From the category archives:
Vegans also smell better, according to the Facts on Farts: “The more sulfur-rich your diet, the more sulfides and mercaptans will be produced by the bacteria in your guts, and the more your farts will stink. Foods such as cauliflower, eggs and meat are notorious for producing smelly farts, whereas beans produce large amounts of not particularly stinky farts.” Am I the only one who views broccoli and cauliflower as the same vegetable? I know they’re not really, but they’re usually next to each other at the grocery store, and the broccoli’s always half the price, so I make up little lies like that to justify my cauliflower aversion, although that whole “broccoflower” nonsense doesn’t make it any easier for my poor cruciferous-addled brain. Wow, to think that I set up a category for “music” and never used it… I got an email from Brilliant Sins, a band “from Wales but living in Los Angeles”. They’ve got a song called “Fur is Dead” (there’s a link to it here) that’s been featured on the Humane Society’s “fur is dead” website (or so they say – can anyone find me a link? I’m really sleepy…) and is on a British punk animal rights CD (info here). I listened to “Fur is Dead”, and I’m going to check out the other songs tomorrow, but you might want to give ‘em a listen if you like to find pro-veg songs that don’t suck.
