Shameless plug time – in case you’ve got any money left after the holidays, we’re having our first ever sale on VP merch – all shirts have been marked down to $20.07, including shipping! Prices are changing on Jan 7th and stock on some sizes and styles are limited, so if you’ve been eyeing any of our products and nobody’s bought one for you yet, there’s never been a better time to wrap yourself in some stylin’ vegan goodness! By the way, our mailing list subscribers knew about this yesterday, so if we’re sold out of something you wanted, you might want to sign up for the list to prevent such a tragedy from occurring in the future. Happy holidays! As you may have guessed, we’re doing the annual “visit many many family members in many many cities” tour, and accordingly, access to internet and free time is sporadic, so front page posts will be less than regular for the next while. Luckily, there’s a lot going on in the forums! anarchistgrouch posted news of a calf escaping a slaughterhouse, PonderingWillow wrote about Macy’s pulling two fur lined jackets after finding that they were lined with dog fur, and Triddle‘s “I’m in Ur… thread needs feeding. Lastly, if you’re still stuck for a recipe to celebrate the season, we’ve got a 3 part Eazy Vegan Holiday Extravaganza posted. If you celebrate Christmas, we hope you’re having a good one, and here’s hoping everyone has a healthy and happy 2007!

We’re off to the 22nd annual Vegetarian Food Fair at Toronto’s Harbourfront, where we’ll be spending the next three days selling kick ass shirts, aprons, bottle openers, DVDs, shorts, lunch bags, and I don’t even know what else. That’s right, a lot of stuff that’s not even in the store yet, and it’ll be even cheaper. We’re also doing live Eazy Vegan cooking demonstrations on Saturday at 1 (Ange) and Sunday at 3 (Jason), and we’re looking forward to meeting as many pornstars as we can over the course of the weekend! Downtown Toronto just got free wifi, but it doesn’t go that far South, so you’ll have to wait until the evening for updates, but be sure to check this thread and our Flickr page for news of how each day went. We’ll be in booth 501 by the food tent. Link.

Get ‘em now while there’s still a bit of summer left: wave one of our fall 2006 clothing line is now on sale in our upgraded storefront! We’ve got some more stuff on the way in the next week or so, and even more after that. Of course, I have no idea where we’re going to store it all, so if you could help us make some room (and pay the bills), that’d be a win-win situation. Kudos to Ange for the great design work! Link.

Hey, remember when we had contests a while back and then, uh, took a long time to judge the winners, like, two months long time, as in just now? Anyway… I’ve got a new contest running Monday, and I need to wrap this up get off my butt, so – Checkers, I still need your address from this one. mpatrick, you won this caption contest for your slew of entries, highlighted by the inside out petting zoo remark. Finally, Dave Noisy, you won this one for the “anonymity of the sperm bank” entry. Send me your mailing addresses! Even if you didn’t win something this round, send me your addresses anyway, because we have a label maker and sometimes get bored. Stay tuned for a new contest tomorrow, which I promise will be dealt with quicker than these!
For those of you who noticed and wondered, no, VP didn’t change ownership or anything – I’ve just dropped the moniker I’ve been using for the past 5 years or so. My name, if you didn’t already know, is Jason, although I’ve kept the “HT” bit in the middle to ease the transition (although the stupid software wouldn’t let me put quotes in – that Thrust guy couldn’t get anything right). Is it time for a caption contest? Well, let me ask you this: after looking at the link that I stole from Shawn, don’t you think that it’s time for a caption contest? Link.
I can’t think of anything interesting to say right now, so here’s a mystery contest that might convey the same information: the first user to post a picture of a birthday cake with five candles in the comments, along with the correct guess as to why I’d make such a request on May 13, 2006 gets an Earthlings DVD.

Well, it only took us about a year and a half, but we finally got it started: The Eazy Vegan is our brand-spanking spank-diddily-ankin’ cooking show! We’re planning on weekly episodes, and you can check out episode 1, “Fernando’s Zucchini Onion Pizza” right here: Link.
